ABOUT THE COURT
The Superior Court of Los Angeles County is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 36 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by 5,000 full-time Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $1 billion. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,752 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Senior Court Administrator positions directly serve the Court by planning, organizing, and overseeing operational functions of a district or central court operation, and work with supervising and site judges to develop and implement district case management plans, manage budgets, and provide strategic direction. Senior Administrators provide expert professional assistance and guidance to court management in the areas of their responsibility and represent the Court in meetings with various external agencies and stakeholders. Senior Administrators are instrumental in developing and implementing the Court's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values.
This is an at-will managerial position. The Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act (SB 2140) authorizes the Court to exclude managerial employees from the employment protection provisions of the Act subject to meet and confer.
TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES
This position is eligible for some telework following an initial training period.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of application:
OPTION I: Six (6) years of experience at the level of Administrator II or higher for the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
OPTION I (SUBSTITUTION): Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university* -AND- two (2) years of experience at the level of Administrator II or higher for the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
OPTION II: Six (6) years of experience in a management capacity overseeing multiple distinct but related administrative or operational units in a Court or public entity at the level of Administrator II or higher.
OPTION II (SUBSTITUTION): Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university* -AND- four (4) years of experience in a management capacity** overseeing multiple distinct but related administrative or operational units in a Court or public entity at the level of Administrator II or higher.
*Management capacity is defined as having the responsibility for planning, organizing, implementing, and administering the work of a functional program or section through subordinate supervisory staff.
Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with and applying laws, rules, and regulations such as California Rules of Court, Civil Code, Government Code, Local Court Rules, etc.
- Experience working with and applying contract guidelines and participating in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
A valid California Class C driver's license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
EXAMINATION INFORMATION
PART I: Qualifying evaluation of education, training, and experience based on submitted application materials and supplemental questionnaire.
PART II: Applicants who best meet job-related qualifications will be invited to participate in the examination process that may consist of any written, performance, or oral appraisal to evaluate further job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
