Role:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative, customer service and sales support to our Credit Union Membership, Select Employer Groups and the General Public.
The Insurance CSR will be familiar with all EIS insurance lines and will be primarily responsible for the Property & Casualty product area.
This role is based in Syracuse, New York and requires full-time in office.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
N40%Provide quality customer service to all clients and prospects with a high level of accuracy, efficiency and consistency. Perform administrative tasks, such as properly completing transactions and maintaining records.N25%Assist Insurance Agents in writing new business and identify opportunities for additional sales.N20%Build relationships with each client to facilitate the retention of our inforce business.N10%Maintain and improve working environment by utilizing team and communication skills. Support Empower Federal Credit Union's culture by participating in training, marketing and Credit Union committee activities.N5%All other duties assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1.See Dayforce (HRIS) for Performance Goals upon hire and annually.
Knowledge and Skills: ExperienceOne year to three years of similar or related experience.Education(1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program. Property and Casualty or Personal Lines license must be obtained within 90 days following hire date or effective date of moving into the position. Required licensing must be maintained.Interpersonal SkillsWork involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.Other SkillsOrganizational Skills:
Time management skills to coordinate and prioritize multiple daily tasks.
Analytical Skills:
Demonstrate an aptitude for billing, figures and calculations.
Strict attention to detail and a high level of organization.
Ability to understand complex coverage information and underwriting guidelines.
Ability to understand a wide range of products and their specific uses.
Ability to analyze data and information.
Technical Skills:
General office computer and insurance industry software proficiency is required. Ability to learn and use multiple software tools are essential.
Ability to learn multiple carriers product lines, guidelines, and navigate their different websites and procedures.
Other:
Professional appearance and a willingness to work flexible hours are required.
