Job Requirements / Description

Role is responsible for end-to-end product strategy including P&L ownership, policy and process optimization, competitive analysis, forecasting, balance sheet management, and execution. Leads strategy development in partnership with credit risk, operations, sales, marketing, finance, legal, compliance, technology, and other internal partner groups.


Responsibilities:

  1. Makes strategy and new initiative recommendations to senior leaders based on an in-depth understanding of the business.
  2. Optimizes policies and processes to be competitive in the market while meeting target P&L profitability and balance sheet targets.
  3. Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  4. Develops business cases by identifying needs, analyzing potential options, and assessing expected returns on investment.
  5. Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  6. Leads, develops, and manages strategies for reporting and forecasting and/or analytics teams within the business.
  7. Develops and implements action plans that meet financial and growth metrics.
  8. Conducts complex market research, competitive intelligence, and data analysis.
  9. Monitors key product performance and growth metrics to identify trends and recommend action plans.
  10. Provides competitive analysis and benchmarking to identify product strengths and gaps, and extract insights.

Qualifications:

  1. Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Strong experience with consumer / commercial credit applicable to retail and business financing products.
  3. Strong experience working with retail and business product fundamentals, including product design, functionality, and related policies and procedures.
  4. In-depth risk management associated with new and existing product development and management.
  5. Strong knowledge of process coordination and management.
  6. Strong knowledge of banking product management and associated industry and regulatory requirements.
  7. Building business cases - in-depth

Salary:

$100,000.00 - $185,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
