Position Overview

Position Title: Immunogenetics and Histocompatibility Laboratory Director/Health Sciences Open Rank Clinical Professor

Salary Range: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $350,000. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position Description

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA is searching for an outstanding faculty member to serve in the Division of the UCLA Immunogenetics Center. The successful candidate will be expected to hold/obtain their American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Diplomate status and qualify as Laboratory Director accredited by ASHI for Hematopoietic Stem Cell/Bone Marrow Transplantation, Solid Organ Transplantation, and Histocompatibility Testing, and obtain/maintain their California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist or Director's license. The candidate's primary clinical service will be in the Division of Immunogenetics. Professional duties will include technical oversight for immunogenetics and histocompatibility testing, review and sign out of test results, development of clinical pathways, clinical consultation, monitoring compliance with the Quality Control Plan, test development, validation, and implementation. Evening and weekend call responsibilities are scheduled on a rotation basis. We anticipate the candidate will spend approximately 70-80% effort on clinical service in Immunogenetics, with the remainder of effort balanced with teaching, administrative work, research, and attendance at professional development and scientific meetings. Candidates are expected to have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent).
