Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture.
We are looking for a Principal Group Product Manager to join our team. Capacities are the driving force behind all these experiences. They provide the computing power necessary for tasks such as data modeling, data warehousing, business intelligence, and machine learning. Capacities offer a simple and unified way to scale resources based on customer demand. Whether you need to handle large-scale data transformations or real-time analytics, capacities can be easily adjusted to meet your requirements, empowering organizations to harness the full potential of data and analytics driving innovation and efficiency.

Responsibilities
- People Management: Managers deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring.
- Understand the industry landscape, competition, and customer needs, and use that knowledge to shape the best offering in the market.
- Build consensus on product strategy/vision across all functions and aligns with internal/external partners to achieve defined goals and vision for product/feature area(s).
- Drive the product planning efforts and other key rhythms of the business with the product and close collaboration with the engineering team.
- Partner with marketing, business planning, sales, support, and other functions across Microsoft to ensure everyone has what they need, from go to market activities to supporting existing customers.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years people management experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years people management experience.
Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
