Marcum LLP is seeking an Assurance Manager to join our growing and well-established national firm in East Hanover, NJ . This position requires an experienced Assurance professional with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills. Responsibilities :

  1. Coordinate various planning phases of engagements and ensure work is on schedule
  2. Generate budgets
  3. Maintain profitable realization rates
  4. Review and evaluate work papers, and determine compliance with professional standards and firm policy
  5. Review reports and financial statements
  6. Review with the engagement partner significant findings that raise questions involving auditing standards and firm policy
  7. Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executed
  8. Be involved in practice development and supervision of multiple engagements
  9. Assume responsibility for billing and collections when circumstances permit
  10. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client management
  11. Provide on-the-job training to subordinates
  12. Generate new business annually from new and existing clients
  13. Represent the Firm by presenting on areas of expertise at 3rd party events
  14. Effectively manage employee and client expectations
  15. Complete performance evaluations constructively and timely, and also provide ongoing performance feedback to employees
  16. Maintain required annual CPEs
  17. Participate in firm-sponsored activities
  18. Develop staff by taking an active role in the Firm's learning and development activities

Qualifications

  1. BBA/BS/MS in Accounting
  2. Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) / Tax law knowledge
  3. 7 - 11 years of relevant experience
  4. Must be a licensed CPA
  5. SEC experience preferred
  6. Ability to articulately communicate professional/technical knowledge
  7. Effective business advisory skills
  8. Decisively identify and execute solutions to problems
  9. Thorough understanding of complex technical issues
  10. Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy
