The Role

GovExec's Insights & Research Group (IRG) seeks a Research Manager who is a multi-disciplinary thinker who can listen to the client's needs and execute accurately and precisely. You must be a detail-oriented problem solver, willing to roll up your sleeves and work with the team. Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience conducting primary market research, including surveys and interviews, and a passion for transforming information into actionable insights. As Research Manager, you will play a key role in executing research projects from start to finish, ensuring data quality, creating client-ready reports, and delivering valuable recommendations that influence decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Manage the end-to-end process of research projects, from initial client consultation to final deliverables.
  • Survey Design: Develop and write clear, targeted questionnaires tailored to client needs.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough checks on data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Data Visualization: Create compelling presentations and reports summarizing key research findings and recommendations for clients. Populate reports with data findings, ensuring all insights are clearly communicated and aligned with client objectives.
  • Insight Development: Analyze research findings to generate actionable insights and strategic recommendations for clients.
  • Client Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their research needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other teams within the IRG and across the company to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience conducting primary market research with a proven track record of managing successful projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SPSS a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze and interpret data, with experience turning complex information into insights.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy and report quality.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting research findings to clients, and demonstrated successes solving problems and creating better outputs.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or detailed knowledge of the public sector including government agencies or industries that serve them.
  • Knowledge of information technology policy or systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research methodologies such as focus groups and in depth interviews is a plus

The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
