Senior Financial Analyst: Job Summary
The Sr. Financial Analyst reports to the CFO and is responsible for providing critical insights into business performance. The successful candidate will coordinate budget creation, analyze business performance to budget and prior periods, drive reporting rigor across the organization, and, in conjunction with business partners, identify and execute on business improvement opportunities.
Senior Financial Analyst: Essential Functions
These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform:
- Analyze and report on monthly financial results.
- Develop consistent reporting and assist business partners to understand results, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Forecast and model proforma finance scenarios.
- Analyze customer account profitability, vendor pricing, product performance, etc.
- Review and analyze SG&A spend against budget and prior year.
- Perform various month-end close responsibilities.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process and analyze monthly performance to budget.
- Provide finance support to key business partners.
- Assist with reporting and financial related matters around M&A and integration topics.
- Report on bank, insurance and government compliance related topics.
Senior Financial Analyst: Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field.
- 5+ years of finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with business and financial reporting systems.
- Critical thinking skills; ability to process complex topics, develop insights and communicate potential business solutions and strategies.
- Strong financial modelling ability.
- Strong communication skills.
- Team player; ability to work with business partners to deliver business goals.
- Advanced excel skills.
Preferred:
- Previous FP&A background.
- Business Intelligence, Crystal reports or similar reporting experience.
- CMA, CPA or MBA.
