Program Manager, Anesthesia - (3302495)

Reporting directly to the BWH Executive Director and with direction from the MGH Administrative Director of Operations, the Program Manager owns a portfolio of operational responsibilities. The Program Manager is a highly creative, versatile team member who leads key departmental programs, including program management for certain recruitment and academic activities in the departments. The Program Manager also supports the development of department-specific internal and external communications/marketing efforts and assists Anesthesia leadership with a variety of communication initiatives that align with departmental vision and strategy.

The Program Manager must be comfortable interacting with colleagues throughout the organization, as well as with external vendors, and should be able to communicate in an articulate manner both verbally and in writing.

Program Management (75%):

  • Provide BWH program management support for efforts as directed by the Executive Director and/or designee, which may include but not limited to:
  • CRNA program management:
  • Coordinate CRNA/SRNA recruitment activities with CRNA leadership, HR and external organizations.
  • Collaborate with Chief CRNA to create and maintain tracking/organizational system to follow-up on potential CRNA candidates and engage with potential candidates.
  • May provide support for certain CRNA administrative functions (e.g. payroll, other).
  • Plan, participate in and provide program management and administrative support for a portfolio of academic activities, which may include faculty meetings, research seminars, grand rounds, and/or other large-scale activities. Provide comprehensive event documentation to facilitate community engagement and support development efforts.
  • Provide cross coverage for other administrative functions within the department as assigned.
  • Other program management and activities planning efforts as assigned, which may include responsibilities covering MGH, including international recruitment facilitation and other activities.

Other / Communications and Marketing (25%):

  • Create and produce high quality content for external and internal communications representing the BWH Department of Anesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine and the MGH Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. This includes development of newsletters, email, direct mail, marketing collateral and website content directed toward multiple audiences. Connects and seeks guidance from MGB Communications/Marketing as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of all social media content.
  • Develop internal communication strategies with direction from leadership to effectively communicate executive vision and progress toward reaching goals. This may include support for Faculty Meetings, Town Halls and other communications venues.
  • Draft written communication and documents on behalf of leadership. Provide content development and project management to facilitate HMS department reports, annual reports and other major reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of related work experience creating marketing/communications content, running social media platforms and activities planning.

    • Demonstrated program and project management experience, including conceptualizing, designing and managing timelines and budgets, implementing, coordinating and evaluating programs and events.
    • Proven initiative and self-direction.
    • Comfortable and experienced presenting ideas, marketing concepts and project work to senior leadership.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Superior attention to detail; checks and corrects own work for accuracy.
  • Communications:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including superior writing and editing skills.
    • Listens effectively and conveys information and ideas clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
    • Carries out instructions in a timely manner; escalates issues as appropriate to key stakeholders.
    • Ability to interact with professionals at all levels throughout a large, diverse health care organization.
    • Thorough understanding of digital content creation and web development tools.
