Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children’s and family programs. Job Description
Housing Case Manager is a community-based, high-engagement role wherein direct transitional care is provided to moderately sized caseloads composed of clients across our service county. Individuals in this role will have to be adaptive, resource-savvy, personable, team-oriented, and have advanced critical thinking skills. This role requires both remote and in-person engagement when necessary and is focused on delivery of optimal transitional care to homeless and other vulnerable populations.
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Search for and develop housing inventory for programs across agency
- Develop relationships with property managers and landlords to support housing inventory
- Conduct housing inspections to meet HUD Housing Habitability
- Conduct housing utility inspections and complete reports
- Conduct rent reasonableness reports to meet HUD Housing Habitability
- Assist case managers and clients in housing applications, searches and connections
- Acts in an ethical manner reflecting core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect and responsibility. Acts above reproach in all that is done on behalf of Illumination Foundation.
- Models openness, honesty and accountability to colleagues, volunteers, donors and all othersinvolved with Illumination Foundation.
- Must accept personal responsibility and accountability for performance of duties.
- Must maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials.
- Prioritize individual and client health and safety.
- Be able to meet targets and work under pressure.
- Communicate with tact and professionalism.
- Set and maintain healthy boundaries with clients.

Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications
Required:- Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Customer and client relations skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Understanding of and ability to conduct HUD Housing inspections and reports
- Understanding of housing rental market and property management
- 3+ years relevant experience Sales and Property Management Preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
