Principal Product Manager - Technical, Amazon Fashion & Fitness

In Amazon Fashion and Fitness, our team's mission is to help customers discover and make purchase decisions for items they love. We are looking for a customer obsessed Principal Product Manager - Technical to create our next-generation complementary shopping experiences, helping customers easily discover products that are complementary to their shopping mission.

We are looking for someone to think big, break the status quo of what exists, and invent new ways of solving the complementary problem. The ideal candidate can relate to the customer and put themselves in different customers’ shoes. They use these skills and their technical depth to create and execute a bold vision, building on what we have today, and inventing and simplifying new ways to expand the impact and unlock next level business growth. They proactively use data to disconfirm their own beliefs, move quickly, and make data driven decisions and smart trade-offs. They are an innovative thinker with a deep understanding of automation, machine learning, and generative AI technologies and are experienced in productionizing machine learning models and working with APIs. They must be able to partner and influence across functions, navigate complexity and ambiguity, be an exceptionally structured critical thinker that dives deep and has a strong history of building and managing critical features at speed to deliver results. They are customer focused, entrepreneurial, a proven self-starter, and have the demonstrated ability to invent and deliver.

The Principal Product Manager – Technical in this role will:

  1. Use their strong writing and communication skills to present a bold product vision, driving clarity in the face of ambiguity, and effectively communicating this vision and progress across all levels of the organization.
  2. Work backwards from the customer and build compelling business cases, and generate innovative ideas supported by insightful data analysis.
  3. Define the requirements and lead prioritization and long-term roadmap definition to deliver new features, and partner with science, engineering, and stakeholder teams across organizations to execute.
  4. Collaborate and prioritize key development efforts and timelines to ensure short and long-term goals are met.
  5. Establish and be directly responsible for a set of critical goals and KPIs and the levers to influence them.
  6. Ensure change management, global standardization, application optimization, scalability, and agility are components of feature design and development.
  7. Work closely with leaders across the Fashion and Fitness organization and Amazon more broadly to influence, drive consensus, and deliver cross-organization impact.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience in technical product management
  • 10+ years of end to end product delivery experience
  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
