The Luskin Conference Center (LCC) is a 300,000-square-foot, 7-story property on the UCLA campus. The LCC is comprised of 254 guest rooms, approximately 25,000 square feet of meeting space, a 160-seat restaurant, a fitness center, and a business center. The LCC is an academic meeting and conference destination supporting UCLA's education and research mission.

Position SummaryThe Security Supervisor will provide leadership daily to the career Loss Prevention team, which provides safety and security patrols and services for the Luskin Conference Center. This position is responsible for the supervision of day-to-day safety and security operations, including approximately 8-10 full-time direct reports. Primary responsibilities include achieving the short- and long-term goals of the department, ensuring compliance with protocols, policies, and procedures, managing the performance of duties and tasks, monitoring base station operations, running daily deployment meetings, facilitating critical communications to the staff and management, helping to manage and control department costs, providing training and proactive monitoring and reinforcement, and responding to incidents.

Qualifications- 2+ years Experience managing and supervising a diverse and changing safety and security staff in a comparable fast-paced security operation, including training, managing and evaluating performance, and conducting progressive discipline (Required)
- Demonstrated working knowledge and application of established security best practices and the operational needs of the department, including security organizational structures and protocols (Required)
- Ability to prioritize daily operational responsibilities and tasks on a tight schedule and with conflicting deadlines, while maintaining the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected situations and emergencies (Required)
- Working knowledge of operating and training staff on computer-based security systems, including access control and closed-circuit television systems (Required)
- Strong judgment skills, decision-making abilities, and ethical standards regarding appropriate interactions with staff, reporting of incidents, maintaining documentation and files, and situational awareness and assessment (Required)
- Strong interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to maintain impartial, positive, courteous, and professional relationships with subordinate staff, residents, guests, public, and management (Required)
- Excellent communication skills, including prompt and appropriate responses in urgent and unexpected situations, timely reporting of conditions and incidents, following the appropriate chain of communication, and understanding the hierarchy and protocols for decision making (Required)
- Strong written skills, including staff memos and announcements, basic business correspondence, training materials, policies and procedures, incident reports and documentation, performance evaluations, and disciplinary memos (Required)
- Proficiency in general office, productivity, and computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) (Required)
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- AED Certification (Preferred)
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
