Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
At Travelers, we're focused on expanding the application of data and analytics beyond managing risk, helping businesses increase their productivity and efficiency and enabling great experiences for our customers and agents. The Business Insights Delivery team aims to enable the business by building solutions that turn data into insights with well-designed data assets and effective, compelling dashboards and visualizations.
As the Senior Consultant, Business Insights Delivery, you will work to build delivery solutions based on your technical skills and business knowledge. You will grow your communication and presentation skills by recommending the most effective ways to tell stories through data.
What Will You Do?
- Contribute significantly to data wrangling, user experience and interface design, semantic layer and material view design and builds, and asset lifecycle management across a range of capabilities including reporting, guided analytics, self-service, embedded analytics, augmented analytics, and data as a service.
- Utilize a range of technologies (MicroStrategy, QlikView and Qlik Sense) and coding languages (mostly SQL, potential for Teradata, SAS, R, Python, and JavaScript).
- Organize and present solution design options, which may include recommending patterns to leadership based on assessment of business requirements.
- Understand the business problem, context, and audience to inform execution of the work.
- Lead root cause analysis of production incidents and provide recommended patterns to avoid future incidents.
- Champion best practices for the Business Insights delivery discipline across the organization.
- Carve out capacity for innovation (How can we make the practice better?).
- Understand broader business priorities and how the work you take on aligns.
- Contribute to a knowledge sharing culture within the practice.
- Remain open and flexible to needs across the organization to assist where the greatest needs are.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Ability to communicate thoughts/designs/ideas in an unambiguous manner and adjusts communication based on audience.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to leverage previous experience to arrive at an effective solution to resolve business problems.
- Strong data acumen with the ability to profile, analyze, cleanse, and organize data of moderate complexity.
- Experience using Cloud, SQL, NoSQL, Python, CI/CD, Data Visualization, Business Intelligence Platforms (Qlik, MSTR, Tableau), and/or Web Development (HTML, JavaScript, Analytic Libraries), ESRI.
What is a Must Have?
- Bachelor’s degree or two years equivalent experience with business intelligence tools, techniques, manipulation, or related.
