Role
Develops loan applications by evaluating applicant information and documentation. Attends to the needs of customers seeking loans. Interviews applicants to determine financial eligibility for loans. Counsels applicants on loan repayments policies and restrictions. Analyzes potential loan markets to find opportunities to promote loans and financial services. Makes decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits, or makes recommendations to a supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conducts commercial lending business development sales calls to generate business opportunities including lending services and other Bank products and services.
  • Originates commercial loan and obtains necessary documentation from customer. Works with senior officers on larger loans while following the commercial operating guide.
  • Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities. Negotiates credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment method and collateral specifications.
  • Maintains a loan portfolio and manages the past dues loans, classified loans, technical exceptions, and policy exceptions within the Bank's Policy and Peer Group Standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Experience
Five to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
A bachelor's degree is preferred. A driver's license is required.

  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
