ROLE OVERVIEW
The Bovine IVF Embryologist is an integral part of our global team to help bring certainty to genetic progress in livestock. The Embryologist will work alongside team members on site to perform all duties associated with embryo production, data entry, and communication while adhering to all laboratory standard operating procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES- IN LAB

  • Complete Vytelle's specialized training program designed to prepare team members for fieldwork at our satellite locations for oocyte collection and in the IVF lab. This may require travel to our training facility in Texas.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-pace environment while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), processing directives, production standards, policies, having good team interaction and self-management as well as health and safety directives and regulations.
  • Maintain flexibility for working hours as IVF processes are time-dependent, including weekend (some flexibility may be possible depending on lab unit location and season).
  • Follow established IVF processes including:
    • Plate and media preparation;
    • oocyte collection and maturation;
    • semen processing;
    • fertilization;
    • embryo culture;
    • embryo evaluation;
    • embryo loading;
    • embryo freezing.
  • Assist with maintaining integrity, accuracy, labelling and traceability of:
    • Data recording;
    • media;
    • oocyte collection;
    • semen procedure;
    • embryo production.
  • Assist with lab maintenance:
    • Keep benches, work equipment and materials sanitized;
    • tracking materials, equipment and production inventory;
    • handling LN2 following safety protocols;
    • Equipment monitoring and calibration.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field of study
  • Industry knowledge and a strong passion for IVF and/or eagerness to learn and commit
  • Preferred previous laboratory experience in an academic and/or professional setting
  • Preferred knowledge of oocyte, sperm and embryo biology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
