Job Summary
The Project Engineer will provide engineering support and project management for the detailed design, procurement, and construction/installation of capital projects, including upgrades and/or replacement of existing equipment. In addition, the Project Engineer will troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems, contribute to process improvement, and identify and evaluate cost savings opportunities. Experience across industrial, mechanical, electrical & control disciplines is preferred. The role will also assess new technology, evaluate safety, start-up equipment/systems, participate in capital planning meetings, and oversee work performed by outside contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and propose solutions for manufacturing equipment and process issues to improve capacity, quality, and productivity at all US production facilities.
- Project management of engineering team members, contractors, and maintenance support personnel with the ability to track major projects (timeline and cost) and communicate status to management.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities in the plants.
- Document and update as-built drawings for multiple facilities – equipment layouts, single-line diagrams, material flows.
- Utilize capabilities of machine shop.
- Analyze the effectiveness of methodologies at multiple production facilities and recommend best practices.
- Assist in preparation of capital budgets and capital appropriations requests for all manufacturing and engineering departments, selecting and purchasing major manufacturing equipment for all facilities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, supplemented by a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Exposure to maintenance engineering, supervisory principles, quality assurance, budgeting and cost control, and safety management is highly recommended.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Extensive engineering knowledge including experience with mechanical, electrical, and control equipment and an ability to analyze a wide variety of problems and implement solutions.
- Experience in project management, including ability to use MS Project and Gantt Charts.
- CAD design skills with AutoCAD Suite software.
- Document and update as-built drawings for multiple facilities – equipment layouts, single-line diagrams, process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and other documents.
- Maintain a library of frequently used files and parts for Computer Aided Design software applications.
- Manage Autodesk Suite Subscriptions.
- Knowledge in PLC / Computer control systems as well as knowledge of National Electric Code preferred.
- Considerable knowledge of safety practices and hazardous materials handling.
- Knowledge of budgeting practices and capital improvements planning.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors for pricing on major equipment and to establish national contracts for the purchase of common equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- A demonstrated ability and desire to grow within the organization.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be occasionally required to travel out of state to attend business meetings, company functions, and professional development seminars.

Full time Hiring Range: $68,500.00 - $107,690.00 Actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
