What you will work on:
As the Tax Compliance Sr Accountant , you will be a key advisor for all tax matters within the Tax Department. You will demonstrate advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting based on US GAAP, consolidated tax return regulations, and multi-state tax law. This position will be responsible for the preparation and review of the Company's Federal and state income tax returns, audit support as needed, income tax provision assistance, as well as tax research and special project work.

Federal Tax 45%
State Tax 50%
International Tax 5%
JobDuties/ResponsibilitiesMayInclude but Are Not Limited To:
Income Tax Compliance (60%)
  • Prepares all domestic income tax compliance, including federal and state income tax returns in Corptax
  • Prepares international tax returns, such as Form 5471, Form 8975 in Corptax
  • Prepares calculations of quarterly state estimated corporate income tax returns and annual extensions
  • Preparations and review of book to tax differences with documentation of underlying accounting methods
Audit Support (15%)
  • Provides analysis for U.S. and state tax audits. Develops and reviews responses to inquiries from taxing authorities
  • Coordinates with tax department team members and other Department leads on IRS and state examination information requests
Tax Provision (15%)
  • Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provision close process
  • Ensures proper application of accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and other accounting pronouncements
  • Prepares blended state rate calculation and state NOL utilization forecast for current and future years
  • Ensures the tax department is compliant with the requirements of Section 404 of Sarbanes Oxley
Special Projects and Research (10%)
  • Assists in managing exemption certificate collection process and sales use tax research determinations
  • Assist in special projects as assigned, including, but not limited to tax planning, automation, method changes, transfer pricing and analysis of income tax consequences of non-standard transactions
  • Research and analysis as needed
Requirements
What you will bring to the role:
  • 4+ years of tax experience with a large public accounting firm and/or a major corporation desired, with minimum 4 years of solid experience in income tax preparation and review
  • Solid background in U.S. corporate tax compliance, GAAP, and other related U.S. accounting standards and principles
  • Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of the consolidation and eliminations process including corporate tax forms, schedules and disclosures required with the ability to apply this expertise to the business environment
  • Highly disciplined with the ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Advanced experienced with Excel and income tax compliance software (Corptax a plus)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA license and/or MBT (Master in Business Taxation) degree preferred, but not required
