Come join us! We are looking for a qualified technician who is very industry knowledgeable, self-motivated with years of experience in network technical support and consulting. Our mission at SDS is to ensure that we provide our valued customers with adequate IT infrastructures which are used to their maximum capabilities. This role will support our customer networks, firewalls, servers, and end user computer systems, including the handling of security consultations, support requests, and assisting our customers with their IT needs. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills. Responsibilities:

1. Provide professional technical support to our customers’ servers and networks
2. Install, configure, and upgrade hardware infrastructure and applications (incl servers, firewalls, switches, VPNs, other physical hardware)
3. Assess security risks and recommend improvements to safeguard systems
4. Monitor and evaluate network performance and enhance firewall security
5. Respond to support requests in a timely manner and resolve technical issues to minimize customer business impact
6. Develop and maintain technology procedures and documentation
7. Instruct our users in best-use practices in technology, software, security, and equipment
8. Lead and coach others, cross-training with other team members and look for opportunities for service growth at SDS

Qualifications:

1. An associate, bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced experience in IT related field is required.
2. Significant experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure) with on-premise Microsoft domain support preferred
3. Solid understanding of network server infrastructure and enhanced security management
4. Strong communication skills, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
5. Knowledge and understanding of EDR, XDR and MDR security is desired
6. VMWare and/or Hyper-V experience preferred
7. Experience implementing and managing firewalls such as SonicWall or Cisco
8. Knowledge of cloud backup systems and other secure data backup solutions
9. Highly self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
10. Ability to effectively collaborate with team is required for success of the company
11. Experience with VOIP phone systems and supporting wireless environments is a plus
