Our client, a consumer goods related firm, is seeking a take charge Plant Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership to their facilities in NJ.
This is a client-oriented role with direct contact with leaders internally and with the clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the Team in safety, quality, on time delivery, and margin/cost improvements.
Build effective relationships with Sales Team to ensure open channels of communication throughout the customer acquisition process.
Ensure an effective transfer of new products in conjunction with R&D and Product Engineering. Able to be successful in a matrix organization alignment.
Hands on experience with implementing Lean manufacturing principles specifically.
Provide tactical day to day guidance to operations team to meet objectives with automatic, semi-automatic and manual assembly processes with some FDA oversite.
Provide strategic direction to lead the organization to achieve long range goals.
Drive analysis that provides both a measure of past performance and identify future trends to assist in sales and operations planning/forecasting. Develop analytics at the product level to assist in cost of sales improvement opportunities as well as margin analysis.
Responsible for facilities management activities including leasing, maintenance, plant layout, upgrading, security and safety.
Communicate and enforce corporate objectives, policies and procedures.
Facilitate resolutions for customer production concerns or staff and plant production staff as needed.
Ability to coach/mentor and learn in real time.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of B.S. degree in business, mechanical/chemical engineering, or closely related field is required. Graduate degree in related field preferred.
Minimum of 10 -15+ years manufacturing experience with a proven track record of innovation and expertise in leading complex and custom manufacturing environments.
Experience with consumer products, cosmetics/personal care industries, food products, and best-in-class manufacturing with a track record of managing in businesses with highly seasonal, perishable and/or fashion-oriented products.
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes and ability to leverage business intelligence reporting to drive KPI success.
Ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce and thrive in a challenging environment
Highly motivated team player with capacity to work in a collaborative environment across the entire organization.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
