JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of our Engineering department, Saipem America is looking for a Subsea Installation Analysis Engineer (Risers, Pipelines, and Subsea Structures) to integrate the Project Engineering team in the execution of large Offshore EPCI Projects.

The Installation Analysis Engineer will report to the Installation Analysis Lead Engineer or Installation Methods Lead Engineer and will be responsible for executing analysis in compliance with codes, Saipem requirements, and Client specifications and to define installation acceptance criteria.

The Installation Analysis Engineer will be assigned to projects and / or tenders and will deliver high-quality engineering to meet commercial and technical needs.

Proficiency in ORCAFLEX/Python is mandatory.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

In coordination with the Installation Method Engineer, the Installation Analysis Engineer performs subsea installation engineering analysis for rigid pipelines and risers laying (J-Lay and Reeling, including transfer to host platform), flexible pipeline and risers laying (including transfer to host platform), umbilical transpooling and laying, flying leads, rigid and flexible jumpers, and subsea structures lift and deployment to seabed including but not limited to:

  • Analysis of different pipeline installation activities
  • Assessing product behavior during installation including strength and fatigue analyses
  • Analysis of riser and dynamic umbilical systems
  • Analysis of different subsea structure installation activities
  • Providing offshore support to ongoing installation activities
  • Preparing technical project documents (e.g. premises report, installation lay-tables, and analysis reports)
  • Performing checking of installation analysis work and reports
  • Liaising with other project engineering and operations functions to obtain input data, agreeing on installation methodology and feasibility, and providing technical support in client reviews and Hazid.
  • Review and implement Client comments to project documentation and address any analysis concerns.

ONSHORE AND OFFSHORE Missions

Offshore missions on board installation vessels in GOM, Central and South America to support installation campaigns.

PROFILE

  • Minimum Undergraduate degree or above from an accredited university in engineering (Subsea, Structural, Mechanical, Civil, Etc.) .
  • 3-5 years minimum of relevant experience in the offshore Oil and Gas sector
  • Competent in design and analysis software (Orcaflex experience is essential, etc.) and knowledge of computer programming (Mathlab, Python) is preferable.
  • Good knowledge of industry standard (DNV, API)
  • Demonstrated availability to travel offshore to support installations campaign (typically 4-5 weeks each time)
  • Enthusiasm in carrying out analytical work efficiently.
  • This position requires technical and relational skills.
