The Department of Pretrial Services has an immediate need for a Pretrial Services Specialist -SHIFT positionin Warren County. This is a 2nd shift position.
The Department of Pretrial Services oversees a statewide program based on the premise that defendants arepresumed innocent until proven guilty and are entitled to reasonable bail. This premise is supported byfederal and state constitutions.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Interview defendants in jail within 24 hours of incarceration.
  • Complete required assessments.
  • Make recommendation to trial courts for pretrial release with supervision and diversion.
  • Monitor compliance for clients released with conditions or referred to diversion.
  • Monitor compliance with conditions of contract.
  • Submit detailed written reports to the appropriate entities.
  • Keep statistics for the preparation of monthly reports.
  • Broker community resources for diversion and conditional release.
  • Appear in court as needed.
  • Prepare affidavits of indigency for the courts.
  • Enter data into prim (Pretrial Release Information Management System).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Associates Degree w/2 years job related experience or High School Degreew/4 years job related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be able to pass FBI clearance to obtain NCICcertification. Must be able to work in the jail or detention center of the county or counties in whichassigned. Must maintain NCIC certification.
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting within a detention center. Supervision and case management ofadult criminal defendants and/or adult offenders. Travel required.
