Youth Development Mentor

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking compassionate and dedicated Youth Development Mentors to support at-risk youth in our group homes. The ideal candidate will work with adolescents facing challenges and help make a positive impact in their lives.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a supportive environment for youth
• Assist with daily routine tasks and activities
• Transport and supervise residents for appointments and outings
• Coordinate and participate in recreational and social activities
• Communicate with supervisors and professional staff regarding behavior issues and client needs
• Participate in implementation and monitoring of client case plans
• Attend trainings and staff meetings
• Conduct group meetings with youth to address concerns and provide instruction on appropriate behaviors
• Document incidents, observations, and concerns about individual adolescents
• Provide high-quality service to external agencies and the public

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalency completion certification
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with at-risk youth preferred
• Good organizational, written, and verbal skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and co-workers
