Availability of Position : Immediate
Schedule : Part-Time position (Up to 19 hours weekly) working a flexible schedule of day and evening hours and some Saturdays
Reporting Relationship: Placement Services Director
Salary/Grade : $18.00 per hour; Grade 76, Non-Exempt

Become part of our team helping to re-build family relationships and support reunification efforts for children in foster care! The Case Aide will
work in a home-like setting called The Comfort Cottage which promotes a safe and nurturing environment between the children and their families.
The position involves transporting children and families for visits to the Comfort Cottage and provide visit supervision as needed.
The Case Aide will have the opportunity to participate in professional development and learn the Visit Coaching model as well as Trust Based Relational Invention so to engage with families using the innovative and evidenced based practice of TBRI®.
Responsibilities
Description of Position: Engage and support birth families and resource parents of foster children in care. Transport and supervise family visits and utilize Visit Coaching and Trust Based Relational Intervention principles and practices to empower parents during their visit time. Interface with the foster parents on a supportive level in their care of the foster children attending the visit coaching program. Participate in programs that support family reunification services. Provide transportation to and from family visits as needed. Monitor the progress of birth parents and foster children within the visitation program. Working directly with The Salvation Army and County Staff in cooperation with family visitation and other various appointments (i.e., therapies, placements and/or medical appointments) that are part of the family service plan.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma required plus a minimum of two years’ experience in working with children in a school, social services or human services setting. Strong engagement skills and abilities to connect with a diverse population are a must. Flexibility in scheduling work hours in order to meet the needs of the clients is a requirement of the position. Candidate must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army, being active Salvationist is a plus. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
