Responsibilities

In this position, located in Federal Way , you will provide behavioral health consultation to patients, within a primary care setting, in order to improve psychosocial function. This position is a key role in a collaborative care model that involves a team of physicians, psychiatric consultants and behavioral health consultants (Social Workers).
Provide assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health clients.
Provide effective treatment planning and assisting clients in successfully achieving goals.
Provide problem-solving treatment, motivational interviewing, and behavioral activation techniques in short- term solution focused model.
Be immediately available to evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
Actively participate in meetings that support Virginia Mason’s collaborative care model to provide comprehensive care for clients.
Consult with PCPs to enhance understanding of the patient, provide decision support for treatment planning and assist in the implementation and monitoring of biopsychosocial treatment plans.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in short-term counseling utilizing evidence-based practices, including skills-based therapies such as CBT and DBT, as well as the ability to provide behavioral health assessments and crisis intervention. We are also looking for a clinician who has a good knowledge of community resources and works well in a multidisciplinary team of primary care, behavioral health providers and staff.
This position requires a flexible, upbeat clinician who is comfortable working at a fast pace and quickly changing gears to assist with patient needs.
Master's in Social Work from a graduate program accredited by the Council on Social Worker Education of Doctorate in Social Work required. Must also have an active Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license in the state of Washington and have completed four hours training in HIV/AIDS. Familiarity with EPIC/Cerner or other electronic charting system required along with exceptional communication and listening skills.
Prefer at least 3 years experience in a clinical setting, and/or previous experience in an acute medical or mental healthcare in an inpatient or outpatient setting. Pediatric experience a plus.
