JOB SUMMARY:
Ashland Greene is a Dallas-based owner/operator of value-add multifamily real estate in DFW. We are looking for a Vice President of Accounting who will be responsible for developing and directing the company's analytical and financial plans and policies. The VP of Accounting will oversee the planning and forecasting for our 6,000+ unit (and growing) DFW multifamily portfolio as well as our three vertically integrated companies-Ashland Greene Capital Partners, Ashland Greene Construction, and AG Living.
The Vice President of Accounting will evolve our planning and forecasting processes, report on metrics, and drive business insights to optimize company growth. This is an excellent opportunity to implement process improvements for efficiency, scalability, and productivity. The VP of Accounting will oversee our accounting vertical for both corporate and property accounting, including oversight of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments and vendor management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Leadership:
  • Drive and manage financial initiatives, budgeting processes, and KPI tracking, including developing action plans to ensure annual financial objectives are met.
  • Oversee the preparation of Annual Operating Budgets and Quarterly Reforecasts for Ashland Greene entities and AG Living-managed entities.
  • Manage and maintain exit metrics to create income and expense targets for future sales and recapitalizations.
  • Oversee the cash positions of Ashland Greene entities, including Ashland Greene Capital Partners, AG Living, and Ashland Greene Construction.
  • Build and maintain operating cash tracking models for all Ashland Greene properties, providing weekly, monthly, and quarterly snapshots of past performance and future goals to leadership.
  • Oversee all construction draws and capital expenditure budgets.
Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare timely and accurate analyses, summaries, and reports of financial data on the operating progress of the company.
  • Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to proactively identify and address issues affecting overall performance.
  • Prepare projections and monthly close reports for accounting department oversight.
  • Analyze lender debt testing metrics and ensure the company is compliant with loan covenants.
  • Manage the company's annual income and franchise tax filings.
  • Oversee distribution calculations and processing of payments to investors.
Operational Oversight:
  • Oversee monthly monitoring of escrow accounts, including insurance, property tax, and interest rate cap reserves.
  • Communicate with brokers and lenders to oversee acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing of assets.
  • Direct and manage the treasury, financial planning and analysis, and accounting teams while developing the financial strategy for the organization.
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable function to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments, manage vendor relationships, and improve efficiency in billing, payments, and revenue recognition processes.
  • Partner with senior leaders to ensure the company meets revenue targets.
Strategic Management:
  • Partner with the Chief Executive Officer to establish and track revenue and expense metrics.
  • Develop cash flow and projection models for property accounting.
  • Lead improvements in process efficiency and scalability for finance functions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • B.S. in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Preferred:
  • Advanced degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA designation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a finance leadership role with a strong understanding of business metrics.
  • Proven experience building and leading finance and accounting teams within the real estate industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit, tax compliance, and other regulatory matters.
  • Experience in the multifamily and value-add sectors, particularly in a similar owner/operator model.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create complex financial models and waterfalls.
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities and provide feedback on decisions affecting the financial results of the company.
