Survey Party Chief

Job Description :

Survey Party Chief for a heavy civil construction contractor focusing on underground utilities (water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer), dirt, paving (asphalt and concrete), and structural concrete (bridges and structures). Candidates to have extensive knowledge of precision GPS and Total Station systems and the ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities :

• Confidently and efficiently lead a survey crew ensuring accuracy
• Conduct topographic, and construction surveys using various instruments
• Collect precision data, measurements, and perform field calculations as needed
• Interpret survey data and collaborate with the operations team as needed
• Maintain accurate, complete, and legible field notes
• Maintain survey equipment to assure accuracy and longevity
• Mentor junior survey staff

Requirements :

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief
• Proficiency in using survey instruments and software
• Reliable transportation to the office or job site as needed
• Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, principles, and best practices
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
