POSITION SUMMARY: The Machine Learning Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines and ML systems intended to power advanced analytics and automation use cases for various business functions. Partnering closely with the Data Warehouse and Technology Development Teams, the Machine Learning Engineer will work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend appropriate solutions using their understanding of modern ML systems and algorithms. This role will have end-to-end ownership and responsibility for data sourcing, orchestration, validation and interpretation of results.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Design, Develop and Maintain data pipelines used to support ML Systems including identifying source data, orchestration, validation and reporting/interpretation of results.
  2. Work with business stakeholders to define technical requirements for ML solutions.
  3. Understand industry trends and recommend appropriate technology solutions and ML frameworks that will support business use cases.
  4. Act as point of contact for 3rd party software providers and partners.
  5. Using industry best-practices, ensure appropriate governance and validation processes are incorporated into overall solution architecture.
  6. Identify creative and innovative applications of AI/ML technology to solve complex challenges and derive insights from enterprise data.
  7. Manage competing deadlines in an agile development environment.
  8. Create clear and concise documentation of overall solution architecture and maintenance/support requirements.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Systems.
  2. 2-3 years of increasing responsibility experience in the information technology field including experience in designing and developing data pipelines.
  3. Foundational understanding of modern AI/ML technology ecosystems and techniques.
  4. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  5. Understanding of software development lifecycle.
  6. Basic familiarity with SQL, Python, R or comparable query language.
  7. Experience using task management applications like JIRA a plus.
  8. Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required three or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
