POSITION TITLE: CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

BIG BEND CARES & CARE POINT HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER

LOCATION: Big Bend Cares

TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time (typically 50 hours per week)

GENERAL FUNCTION: The Chief Executive Officer – (CEO) of Big Bend Cares & Care Point Health & Wellness Center, plans, directs, and oversees Big Bend Cares’ and Care Point’s budgets, operational policies, rules, initiatives, and goals. Works in conjunction with the Board of Directors assisting in the organization and execution of long-term and short-term plans and directives by implementing judgement, vision, management, and leadership. Previous nonprofit Leadership experience is required. Strong work ethic required, and potential candidates are required to provide a professional letter of support.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ensures the involvement of each board member in oversight of the agency.
  • Ensure that the board functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Assures that the organization has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
  • Provides leadership in developing organizational and financial planning for new programs with the Board of Directors and staff and execution of plans and policies authorized by the board.
  • Knowledge of 340B policy and operations.
  • Maintains official records and documents, and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the 340B and Ryan White fields and anticipates and acts on impacts to the Agency.
  • Ensures the board is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and all-important factors influencing it.
  • Serve as chief spokesperson for the Agency.
  • Publicizes the activities of the organization, its programs and goals.
  • Establishes sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.
  • Represents the programs and points of view of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the general public.
  • Grant writing and program development skills and expertise.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations.
  • Recruits, employs, and releases all personnel, both paid staff and volunteers.
  • Ensures that job descriptions are developed, regular performance evaluations are held, and sound human resource practices are in place.
  • Sees that an effective management team, with appropriate provision for succession, is in place.
  • Encourages staff and volunteer development and education and assists program staff in relating their specialized work to the total program of the organization.
  • Maintains a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top-quality people.
  • Ensures compliance and profitability of 340B program.
  • Attends and presents at 340B related conferences whenever possible and appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains sound financial practices.
  • Works with the staff, Operations Committee, and the board in preparing a budget; ensures that the organization operates with budget guidelines.
  • Ensures that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work.
  • Researches and develops grant proposals.
  • Jointly with the President and Secretary for the Board of Directors, conducts official correspondence of the organization and jointly, with the designated officers, executes legal documents.
  • All other duties as required and needed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Letter of Support/Reference required.

PAY: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
