St. Vincent’s Medical Center (SVMC) is the southern flagship hospital in Hartford HealthCare, the largest integrated health care system in Connecticut. Located in desirable Fairfield County, SVMC performs 1500 deliveries per year with a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit. The unit caters to the diverse Fairfield County community and three groups of independent physicians. We have a robust hospitalist program with advanced practitioner support. There is 24-hour, in-house Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Anesthesia to support the patients. 500 gynecologic procedures are performed annually, including gyn oncology and urogynecology. We are the primary teaching hospital for the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, teaching medical students and physician assistant students. In July 2024, St. Vincent’s will be the primary OB teaching site for the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine Family Practice Residency.
We are looking for a charismatic chair with strong leadership skills, expertise in team building and programmatic development, and a commitment to quality and safety. Strong obstetrical skills are necessary.
Reporting to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, the Chair leads the Obstetrics & Gynecology department, overseeing safety, quality, and service of the department, as well as development of the departmental plan, goals, and objectives. In addition, the Chair is the primary teacher and site director for the OB/GYN part of the Family Practice Residency Program and is the academic chairperson of the department of OB/GYN at the Netter School of Medicine.
