Westlake Management Services Inc. in Salisbury, NC seeks an Engineer II - Technical Services, Building Products. Worksite: 500 Correll Street, Salisbury, NC 28144. Must put job code (R26559) on resume and on cover.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and conclusion.
  • Assess processes taking measurements and interpreting data.
  • Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes as necessary to ensure products meet quality expectations.
  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, process inefficiencies, product claims, and production record systems.
  • Based on these studies, develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Sustain quality requirements and standards for manufacturing products within Building Products Business units.
  • Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to operations for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects.
  • Work on product and process improvement projects.
  • Design, implement, and support current methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Ensure that all product and process specifications are adhered to.
  • Execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality documents and reports.
  • Assist in process certification.
  • Provide support for National Lab, analysis and reporting on quality, product and process issues.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
  • Work with inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Work with QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of Process Engineering experience, with additional Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering background; with at least 1 year experience in a Manufacturing or Industrial setting utilizing Lean concepts working with Process Engineering concepts, with demonstrated results of projects completed from design through implementation.
