JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Clinical Services has 24 hour a day seven day a week responsibility for all clinical programming activities. Assesses the quality of our clinical programming and social service provision to patients and families. Assures maintenance of standards for quality clinical services as defined by professional bodies, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and other accrediting organizations. Supervises all clinical program activities for all in-patient units. Supervision includes, but is not limited to, clinical programming, interactions with patients as well as implementing new programs and in-services as needed. Designs and leads implementation of clinical programming. Assists with the provision of leadership and strategic planning of the clinical services and programs offered ensuring programs meet the needs of the community and the facility's performance goals and objectives.

Hartgrove Behavioral Health System consists of a 160-bed leading psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services for a diverse population of all ages. Hartgrove is a flagship behavioral health facility within Universal Health Services, Inc. and throughout Illinois. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Director of Clinical Services must demonstrate knowledge and skills in provision of services to a varied populations including children, adolescent, preadolescents and adult patients in an inpatient and partial hospitalization program.
Education: Doctorate in Psychology, Psy D., or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology required.
Experience: 3+ years experience working with a psychiatric mental health population in an inpatient setting, one + year supervisory experience.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed Psychologist, Psy D., LCPC or LCSW required.
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of individual and family therapy theory and practice, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management. Knowledge of theory and practice of assessments. Able to work cooperatively with other hospital staff and involved community agencies. Good organization skills, as well as oral and written communication skills.
Supervision Exercised: Clinical Program Supervisor/Manager, Expressive Therapist, Medical Records staff, Social Work staff, Academy staff
Working Conditions: Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching and stooping.
