Chef Leah Cohen’s Piggyback, located on West 30th street, serves refined Asian cuisine in a lively setting, one block from Madison Square Garden. Chef Cohen's first restaurant, Pig and Khao, opened in 2012, has been awarded 2 stars by the New York Times and named Best NYC Asian Restaurant by Zagat.
We are looking for both full time and part time line cooks.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining professional standards
- Ensuring that all dishes are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking and service standards
- Keeping equipment clean and in excellent working condition
- Maintaining a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers
Requirements:
- Experience working in a professional kitchen in NYC
- Knife skills and general knowledge of cooking techniques
- Friendly, outgoing, energetic team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Ability to take direction
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours and (occasionally) lift up to 40 pounds
