Health & Safety Coordinator

Position: Health & Safety Coordinator

Location: Mebane, NC

Responsibilities:

• Assist with development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist with relevant data capturing to ensure all required reporting and communication to regulators is complete and accurate.
• Track, trend and report on health/safety related key performance indicators.
• Ensure required health/safety activities are performed and records/data is accurate, organized and maintained.
• Inspect and audit health/safety related processes/equipment. Track, trend and report results.
• Build and leverage relationships with employees at all levels of the organization to promote a culture of safety and provide guidance on safety protocols and practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in health and safety to improve our safety programs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred; prefer two or more years of demonstrated experience as a Health & Safety Coordinator or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a high-speed manufacturing setting. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other federal, state and/or local regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and implement solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification strongly preferred
• May be required to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 35 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance; must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs; will occasionally work in close proximity to loud equipment; must be able to wear appropriate PPE.
• May be required to work outside normal working hours/be on call
