About the role

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Director of Compensation to lead our compensation initiatives and ensure that our pay structures are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the organization’s goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in compensation strategy development, management, and execution, along with a deep understanding of market trends and regulatory requirements. This role is essential in attracting and retaining top talent while promoting a culture of performance and accountability.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $193,860 and up to $274,700. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Compensation Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives and values, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Salary Structure Management: Develop, manage, and maintain salary structures, pay grades, and job classifications to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
  • Policy Development: Create and update compensation policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices in compensation management.
  • Performance Management: Collaborate with People leadership to integrate compensation strategies with performance management processes, ensuring that rewards are aligned with employee performance and contributions.
  • Communication and Training: Educate and inform leadership and employees about compensation policies, practices, and the value of total rewards; provide training and support for managers on compensation-related matters.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments (People, Finance, Legal) to ensure alignment of compensation strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the compensation team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • Strong understanding of compensation principles, market trends, and regulatory requirements (FLSA, EEOC, etc.).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing compensation programs that drive employee engagement and retention.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
