Mobile Chassis Mechanic

Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Mobile Chassis Mechanic at their Indian Head IL facility.

At least 2 years trailer/chassis mechanics experience is required. Experience with heavy-wheeled vehicle maintenance is highly preferred and will give you an advantage over other candidates.

(MilTech leader / heavy-wheeled vehicle mechanic ideal.)

Compensation: $57,000-75,000 total earnings ($24.00-32.00/hr + $5k sign-on bonus + 7% target bonus)

What You Will Do :

• Perform mechanical repairs and inspections in a depot/repair facility environment, in a shop setting. Will perform all types of automotive chassis troubleshooting and repairs (brakes and wheel end repairs, welding, cutting with a torch and repairing and replacing parts on the chassis using standard repair tools, etc.)
• Troubleshooting and repairs will include ABS systems; air brake systems, wheels end, and structural assemblies
• Some welding and fabrication of chassis
• Use of a truck to drive to locations and complete repairs. (valid driver’s license required.)

Education and Work Experience:

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• at least 4 years US Military leadership (heavy-wheeled vehicle mechanic ideal.)
• 2+ years experience in trailer/chassis mechanics, usage and customary repair methods
• FMCSA and brake certifications required
• Knowledge in welding MIG and/or ARC welding, torch use
• Knowledge of AAR, IICL and DOT rules and criteria
