This role is for a Cost Accountant who comes from a manufacturing background and can be hands on in a dynamic environment. My client is looking for someone who can both do the accounting work necessary and present well to vendors and clients when navigating inter-company relationships.
Client Details
My client is a nationally renowned baked goods and deli meat manufacturer working with big box store clients and distributors across the US. They are rapidly growing and due to opening a new manufacturing plant are looking to expand their accounting function to accommodate the growth. The person stepping into this Cost Accounting role will be able to be part of a ground floor build out and make a big impact as part of this expanding team.
Description
- The Cost Accountant position will assist with all cost accounting activities such as accurate product costing, overhead capitalization calculations, variance analysis, and transaction support.
- Assist with Month End Close and preparation of reports
- Participate in maintaining the inventory accounts
- Monitor production orders for accuracy and completeness
- Track average cost variability and report anomalies
Profile
- A bachelor's or master's degree in finance or accounting
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience (manufacturing background preferred)
- Proficiency in accounting software SAP, QuickBooks, Etc.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders.
