Job Requirements / Description

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Manage CCAC's foundation grant portfolio.
  2. Oversee strategy and execution around all foundation grant and contract prospecting for new and renewal grants in close collaboration with Senior Director -- Government and Foundation Advancement and individual giving team.
  3. Document and oversee execution of highly effective grant research and writing procedures.
  4. Identify, track, and pursue potential grant opportunities through foundation sources.

Collaboration:

  1. Collaborate with Leaders across CCAC.
  2. Build trusted relationships and collaboratively partner with many leaders to:
    1. Curate and grow CCAC's foundation grants portfolio, ensuring alignment with CCAC's mission, strategy, operating objectives, financial targets, and client service goals.
    2. Ensure excellence in grant writing management (e.g., reporting, compliance, completion/sign off, and, as appropriate, renewals).
    3. Administer a regular, robust grant consideration process.
    4. Ensure all communications, messaging, and outreach strategies build upon CCAC's overarching objectives.
    5. Lead process for grant seeking approval in collaboration with other leaders across CCAC.

Team Leadership:

  1. Lead CCAC's foundation grant writing.
  2. Manage foundation grant writing to steward funder relationships with integrity, display excellence in grant writing, and clearly communicate with funders.
  3. Lead Grant Managers to high performance maintaining proactive, accurate, and detailed records of all grant activities including but not limited to organization systems, project tracking, updating CRM etc.
  4. Allocate the Grants Manager's capacity, provide mentorship/development, and manage performance.
  5. Partner with other staff across the organization on implementation of an integrated system of databases and software to support best-in-class grant writing management.
  6. Be a strong partner in supporting our grant management system and team.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Must demonstrate superior writing and editing skills and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  2. Excellent time management skills.
  3. Experience in fundraising and government and foundation grant writing.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) required.
  5. Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources.
  6. Experience with team leadership and management.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Data analysis, project management experience, and funder prospect research experience.
  2. Extensive experience managing and developing growing and diverse teams for high performance, including hiring and professional development for writers.
