POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director – Retail Systems POS and Payments role will provide leadership for POS and Payment systems in North America. The position is responsible for the planning, development, testing, implementation and support of Retail Systems POS and Payments technology. This individual will apply proven communication, problem-solving and leadership skills to guide and assist teams comprised of both business and technical resources to complete projects and support production systems in our company-owned stores in North America.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Retail Systems Technology Strategy and Roadmaps: Develop and maintain the strategy and plans for Retail Systems Technology in conjunction with the Enterprise Architecture team.
  • Retail Systems Engineering and Testing: Lead the teams and vendors responsible for developing and testing POS and Payment system changes.
  • Retail Systems Deployment and Support: Lead the teams and vendors responsible for Deployment and Support of POS and Payment system changes.
  • People Management and Organizational Development: This role will be responsible for talent management of the team and organizational development as the Retail Systems team continues to evolve to meet business requirements.
  • Financial Management: This role is responsible for the budget and management of the operational and capital budget associated with this function.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters degree in IT field or equivalent combination of education and experience-based learning. MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience and knowledge of Retail Systems.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Requires good presentation and communication skills, both oral and written, as well as team participation.
  • Must be able to interact with management and team in a remote work environment.
  • Domain knowledge of POS and payment systems.
  • Knowledge of application development methodologies and technologies.
  • Extensive experience managing large teams.
  • Process development skills required to drive continuous improvement both within the team and across the broader organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate computer keyboard for data entry.
  • Ability to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

The position will require 20-30% travel per month.
