Location - NYC 1211 6th ave

Hybrid - 3 day in office a week

The Tax Senior Associate will report to the Director of Tax Technology and Operations and will support the team in various areas of tax compliance and research. The ideal candidate will be expected to successfully multitask on projects at varying levels of complexity, collaborating across teams and tax functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the News Corp Tax team by assisting with Federal and State compliance

  • Prepares tax packages and state apportionment workpapers for tax compliance and reporting

  • Supports Global Tax provision process and maintains documentation for auditors

  • Assists on various types of tax audits and inquiries, including gathering data and preparing supporting schedules in response to information document requests

  • Processes various tax payments and organizes supporting documentation

  • Analyzes, tracks and models impact of Federal/SALT legislative proposals

  • Assists with key tax projects including process improvements, technology, planning and modeling

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required

  • 3+ years of experience with a blend of public accounting and corporate tax experience, Big 4 public accounting experience preferred

  • Understanding of federal as well as state and local tax

  • Broad understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting rules and pronouncements

  • Preparation experience with U.S. federal and state income tax return compliance, tax forecasting and budgeting

  • Exposure to Federal and state tax audits

  • Solid technical tax research experience with an eagerness to learn

  • Proven ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment while dealing with competing priorities

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills

  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

  • Knowledge of tax compliance and provision software (Corptax, ONESOURCE, etc.)

  • Familiarity and/or aptitude for understanding how to use current technologies such as Alteryx, PowerQuery, or advanced Excel formulas

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Eager to work on a variety of Tax related issues

Pay Range: 90000 - 115000
