The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. The WWSO Cloud Operations team helps customers optimize their Cloud Operations journey by leveraging AWS Cloud Operations services to innovate and unlock new potential. As a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect on the Cloud Operations team, you will be responsible for executing technical activities on GTM motions for AWS Cloud Operations services to expand adoption of these services into new or existing customer portfolios. This position will help worldwide customers adopt services such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus, Amazon Managed Grafana, and AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  2. Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
  3. Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc.
  4. Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  5. Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications
  2. 5+ years management of technical, customer facing resources
  3. 5+ years of working in the cloud operations domain in designing, and implementing services and solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers
  2. Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering)
  3. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
  4. History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises
  5. Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  6. Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
