WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Consultant at BCG ValueScience Center (VSC), part of the Corporate Finance & Strategy Practice Area, you will focus on applied corporate finance and valuation topics. Contributing to client cases, workshops and proposals, the Consultant will perform financial analyses such as shareholder return analysis (TSR), corporate valuation and financial benchmarking. You will also be responsible for building financial models to analyze the capital markets impact of strategic plans, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and financial policies (e.g., debt issuance, dividend policy change).
The Consultant will also share topic/sector acumen and points of view more broadly within the firm. You will partner with BCG teams, managers and project leaders to generate insights pertinent to the financial characteristics and aspects of clients, integrate analysis efforts into proposals/projects, and create high quality presentations for clients.

- Partnering with BCG teams to identify and deliver original analysis and thought partnership
- Explaining complex factual and conceptual financial information
- Developing complex financial models or sensitivity analyses and distilling key insights in a simple way
- Presenting results and distilling the insights of an analysis
- Developing a generalized and custom financial model for valuation analysis
- Delivering your own work while providing apprenticeship and coaching to VSC analysts
- Problem solving – able to take a creative and hypothesis-driven approach in order to solve complex problems
- Working with other BCG teams to ensure that requests for shareholder value expertise are addressed by VSC and appropriate analysis is delivered

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- MBA or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant work experience in corporate finance, investing, and consulting
- Previous corporate finance and valuation experience required
- Demonstrated interest in corporate finance and valuation
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
- Strong work ethic and client service-mentality
- Collaborative, team player
- Demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques and practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities

YOU'LL WORK WITH
The Consultant works with other VSC colleagues globally and will support BCG consulting teams across various industry and functional Practice Areas (clients and consulting teams will be based in North America primarily, but you will work with clients/teams throughout the world).

BCG's Corporate Finance & Strategy practice helps clients with a range of issues on senior management's agenda. We combine BCG's traditional expertise in corporate strategy, M&A and PMI with a value-based management methodology designed to maximize the value of businesses and allow managers to understand and respond effectively to the way that capital markets value companies.
BCG ValueScience Center is the specialty financial analysis division of BCG. We specialize in applying corporate finance topics to BCG clients. We also develop and maintain proprietary valuation methodologies for use in BCG projects. We offer apprenticeship-based learning in a small office environment.
Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.
Some local governments in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of base compensation. We expect your total annualized compensation to be approximately the following:
· In New York City the base salary is between $130,000- $150,000 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level
· In other locations, competitive pay is commensurate with the role and geography
· Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-40%
· 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period
