A Senior Project Consultant with our firm will work on a team and be assigned to a project to work at one of our client locations and benefit from the extensive experience of the senior members. You will learn the needed skill sets and business techniques required to be successful in our business and across multiple industries. The position responsibilities are contributing to the scope of project management which relates to workflow analysis, planning, change process, and systems implementation.

We work closely with our clients in a partnership to achieve measurable and sustainable results in process flow, operational efficiency, and productivity improvement as well as performance management.

Functions And Duties

  1. Perform initial feasibility analysis reviewing organization structure, communication, layout, support functions, customer service, process flow, crewing, equipment/maintenance, and quality control in order to leverage knowledge and create detailed understanding.
  2. Utilize a working knowledge in various continuous improvement methodologies such as: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc. combined with the consulting tools USCCG has internally developed.
  3. Observe how clients perform work now, collect quantitative and qualitative data on the client's current state performance, assess value, find opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations based on observations.
  4. Examine process for variation, such as waste, quality, efficiency, effectiveness, productivity.
  5. Identify waste, and mark type of waste on process flow map.
  6. Interpret client's operational, quality, and financial data, engineering drawings, diagrams, value stream mapping, and confer with USCCG and client's operators, supervisors, and managers to determine throughput, quality, and reliability standards.
  7. Collect and develop the narrative for steering team discussions.
  8. Work with client's people to select product for tests at specified stages in production process, and test for a variety of qualities such as performance, dimensions, and mechanical characteristics.
  9. Operate various diagnostic equipment and software as needed to meet client expectations.
  10. Maintain thorough communication with the Project Manager and build rapport with other team members.
  11. Create and maintain an effective and positive business relationship with the client.
  12. Develop an operating system by identifying capability and capacity and creating process controls to manage and measure the process.
  13. Perform daily functions in process monitoring, handling daily shift review meetings, providing daily operating reports, and progress evaluations.
  14. Mentor Project Consultants.
  15. Be proactive in self-development by reading, reviewing USC video training modules, and participating in professional development opportunities.

Technology Experience

Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite, MS Project, and Visio. Functional knowledge of Excel including confidence in creating graphs and pivot tables. Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, and SAP (or other similar CMMS/ERP systems) is a strong asset.

Education And Work Experience

  • 2 to 5 years in the business arena.
  • An undergraduate business-related degree (advanced degree is a plus).
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 5 nights a week.
  • Willing to work international assignments.
  • Have a valid driver’s license, and a Canadian or US Passport.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is an asset.
