This is a remote position available to candidates who actively reside in the following states: AL, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MI, NC, NV, PA, TN, TX.
About the Learning Specialist Role The Learning Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and facilitating training programs that enhance employee skills, performance, and knowledge within the organization. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to create instructional materials, delivering engaging training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives. The Learning Specialist will also support the overall strategy of the Learning and Development (L&D) department by identifying training needs and providing innovative learning solutions.
What You'll Do:
  • Needs Assessment: Perform learning needs analyses to identify skill and knowledge gaps, followed by a build, borrow, or buy assessment to determine the most effective solution for addressing those gaps.
  • Design and Develop Training: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and create instructional content using blended learning solutions.
  • Content Creation: Develop training materials such as presentations, job aids, videos, and e-learning/microlearning modules, ensuring they are up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Utilize surveys, assessments, and feedback mechanisms to measure the impact of training programs, making adjustments as necessary to improve effectiveness.
  • LMS Management: Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) by uploading content, tracking learner progress, and generating reports for stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement : Stay current with learning and development trends and technologies, incorporating best practices and innovations into the L&D strategy.
  • Collaboration: Schedule time and partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to perform need analysis and content creation.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in Learning and Development, training, or instructional design.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.).
  • Experience with design tools and technologies such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Canva, and other LMS platforms.
  • Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills, both in-person and virtually.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating training program effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in Learning and Development (CPLP, CPTD, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a corporate or healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS)
Working Conditions:
  • Remote working environment with some in-person training sessions required.
  • Occasional travel for company training events.
