The Early Childhood Teacher is a committed and passionate educator with a dedication to children ages 0-5 and their families. They have the ability to be flexible while working with people with different perspectives and backgrounds. This role will ensure families receive the best introduction in the center and strive to provide creative, engaging and thoughtful classes for all. A friendly, warm approach is essential in creating a welcoming environment. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and function effectively as part of a team.
Hiring Bonus $500 after 30 days
Benefits:
Pay rate: $19 - $21 an hour based on experience
Part Time 20 hours a week - Wednesday 12pm-7pm, Thursday and Friday 9am-2pm, Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm

Minimum Requirements:
1 year of teaching experience
Associates degree or educational units in health, human services, child development, early childhood education or related fields. Experience can be taken over education.
Ability to reliably commute to Vallejo
Passionate about Early Childhood learning and developmental milestones and serving the community
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Ability to create engaging, creative and age appropriate activities for children 0-5 years
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to develop effective relationships with young children, parents/caregivers, colleagues, and community members of diverse populations
Comfortability working with parents/caregivers and children
Knowledge and ability to use modern office equipment including a personal computer and various software packages.
Ability to organize, set priorities, take initiative and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis as a part of setting up and breaking down materials for childwatch and curated experiences in the play area
Commitment to participate in professional development.
Able to practice open, clear, and consistent communication
Preferred:
Experience using Google suite (docs, calendar, sheets ect.)
Bilingual in Spanish or Tagalog
Job Responsibilities:
You will provide multiple one hour Early Childhood classes ranging in topics and age range throughout the week
You will receive training on how to implement Ages and Stages screenings and hold screenings each session
You would be finding creative ways to help foster a feeling of community and support between the caregivers taking the classes.
You would be working in a dynamic environment while building professional relationships with a variety of county service providers supporting the community.
You would be providing support to families who come to the Center, as well as communicating with families to help keep them engaged with attending our classes.
You will be provided training and implement a parent education class each session
You would be completing monthly program documentation.
Support events, childcare during parent/caregiver classes and center visits as needed
As a part of a collaborative team, you will help with center duties as needed.

The Vallejo First 5 Center, a program of Bay Area Community Resources, is the first and only free-standing community center of its kind in Solano County. The center offers free programs that help parents/caregivers nurture and support their young children so they grow up healthy, happy, and positioned for success. The program focuses on parent education, early learning opportunities, family literacy, and community resources. Classes are for children ages 0-5 and their parents/caregivers to participate in together, in a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. Local community partners are also stationed within the center on a rotational basis so our families gain access to services they need onsite.
Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
