Job Summary :

JCW is partnered with a leading law firm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join their tax team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a law firm setting, with a strong focus on tax planning and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a leading law firm, providing sophisticated tax advice to clients across a variety of industries. An LLM in Taxation is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide comprehensive tax planning and advisory services on complex M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, and other tax matters.
• Collaborate with clients to structure transactions that are tax-efficient while complying with relevant laws and regulations.
• Conduct detailed legal research on federal, state, and international tax matters to support client needs.
• Assist senior attorneys in drafting legal documents, including tax opinions, memoranda, and agreements.
• Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients on the implications of these changes for their businesses.
• Build and maintain client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor on tax-related matters.

Qualifications :

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 3 years of tax experience in a law firm setting, with a focus on tax planning and M&A.
• LLM in Taxation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of corporate tax, partnership tax, and federal and state tax laws.
• Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
