The Opportunity
We are seeking a Legal Technology Project Manager to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Washington D.C. office (hybrid). The Legal Technology Project Manager leads and manages all aspects of discovery in litigation and regulatory matters using the Firm's legal technology solutions. This position provides consultative support and applies the Firm's electronic discovery best practices and project management strategies to manage cases efficiently and effectively.
- Advises attorneys, paralegals and clients on electronic discovery best practices and consults on processes from collection through post-production tasks.
- Liaises with internal case teams, clients, vendors and the Legal Technology staff to support matters throughout all phases of discovery.
- Maintains awareness of latest electronic discovery trends and assesses any impact they have on Legal Technology workflows.
- Provides analyses and detailed feedback of ESI Protocols in consultation with attorney teams.
- Identifies and articulates potential risks clearly and provides viable solutions regarding collection, processing, review and production.
- Assists with the vendor selection and engagement process by consulting with the Legal Technology management team and attorneys.
- Participates in client preservation and collection discussions at the outset of a new matter.
- Manages all aspects of collection, including identifying all sources and locations of electronically stored information.
- Manages all aspects of data processing, including coordinating with processing vendors and reviewing search terms.
- Manages all aspects of review, including setting up and designing the review database.
- Manages all aspects of document production preparation, including reviewing production specifications with attorneys.
- Conducts quality checks on final production volumes and media.
- Provides end-user support and customer service to partners, co-counsel, case teams and clients.
- Tracks progress of projects by maintaining and updating project files and documentation.
- Reviews and verifies vendor invoices to ensure costs are consistent with the work performed.
- Develops recommendations, proposals, plans, cost estimates, budgets, procedures and specifications for new matters.
- Provides advice to and mentors Legal Technology Project Coordinators.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Understanding of relevant Firm litigation support software.
- Advanced understanding of all aspects of the EDRM and of electronic discovery best practices.
- Familiarity with all forms of document production specifications.
- Thorough understanding of analytics software and technology-assisted review.
- Extensive knowledge of basic litigation processes.
- Proficiency with various electronic discovery platforms, including Relativity.
- Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs.
- Ability to determine and articulate tailored solutions to electronic discovery issues.
- Advanced ability to provide upper-margin customer service.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational and planning skills.
- Flexibility to travel and adjust hours as necessary.
Experience/Education
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of five years directly related experience in a litigation environment.
