This role is for a Senior Technology Manager in the Process & Engineering cathode section. The desired candidate will lead a small group of powder processing and equipment experts that will be responsible for global cathode technology area ownership. The group will be responsible for scale-up and validation of new product improvement initiatives, cost savings initiatives, current business continuous improvement, equipment platform improvement projects, and scale-up capability building projects. This individual will partner closely with R&D, Operations, and external suppliers to ensure a seamless delivery of projects to our manufacturing sites. The daily work will include risk evaluation, scope definition, idea generation, engineering design, trial planning, trial execution, troubleshooting, issue resolution, data analysis, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and set daily direction for 2-3 technicians and/or engineers.
  • Provide technology direction setting for powder/particle process/equipment.
  • Build technical mastery and transformation understanding in cathode unit operations.
  • Lead lab-scale through manufacturing scale trials as projects progress through phases.
  • Develop, validate, and improve operational Making Instructions, Centerlines, and Process Control Strategies.
  • Create concise insights and drive meaningful decisions using data analysis and visualization.
  • Effectively influence and deliver work across organizational boundaries including R&D, Operations, and suppliers.
  • Plan and execute multiple projects/activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel: Domestic and International up to 20%.


Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of practical powder/particle processing experience highly desired.
  • 3-5 years’ experience directly leading or managing employees in their work plans.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and successfully delivering projects/programs.
  • Experience with scale-up and validation, including developing technical documentation.
  • Exposure to process/equipment development for high-speed assembly technology a plus.
  • Exposure to statistics, process control strategies, and statistical process control a plus.
  • Experience with battery chemistry (design and/or manufacturing) a plus.
  • Individual must have a strong track record of collaborating and working with diverse groups.
