Position Summary:
Provides Technology oversight in the development of Health System Information Technology programs, systems and infrastructure. Provides leadership, oversight, strategic planning, project management and partnerships within the Health System services and programs. Leads and supports IT planning, standardization and future technology roadmap development to ensure evolution of its core systems and infrastructure. Recommends policy and technology. Ensures adherence to policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.

Detailed responsibilities:

  1. TECHNOLOGY – Develops, maintains and administers a technology plan based on current and future organizational needs that support the mission and strategic initiatives of the Health System.
  2. STRATEGY - Accountable for the development of an IT and infrastructure strategy that is integrated and aligned at the Health System level.
  3. PROGRAMS – Research, resource and develop IT programs that meet organizational needs.
  4. LEADERSHIP – Provides organization-wide leadership in the development and operation of integrated information services.
  5. COLLABORATE – Works collaboratively and serves as a liaison with senior management and key end users to identify and prioritize IT initiatives for the organization that meet business needs.
  6. PROJECTS – Oversees and conducts special IT related projects.
  7. POLICIES – Assists with the development of policies and standards to ensure data integrity, security and shared use; ensures standards are applied throughout the Health System.
  8. STANDARDS – Ensure systems operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency standards and legal requirements.
  9. MEETINGS - Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings as assigned.
  10. DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops.
  11. SUPERVISION - Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives.
