Job Summary:
- Utilizing clinical social work techniques and theory, consults on, assesses, and intervenes with high-risk patients and their families regarding the impact/amelioration of emotional and social problems.
- Conducting psychosocial assessments, making a psychosocial diagnosis, planning and implementing effective treatments, evaluation, education, supervision, coaching, and mentoring of the patient (client) and family members.
- Consulting with, collaborating, and communicating with a wide range of social, governmental, and legal agencies, courts, schools, clinics, other hospitals, physicians, and other sources in the overall care of the patient.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer radiation therapy treatments.
• Monitor patients' health during treatment.
• Take and record X-rays for treatment planning.
• Collect data on patient condition and treatment progress.
• Educate patients about treatment options and recovery.
• Provide emotional support to patients.
• Supervise technicians.
• Report safety concerns.
• Explain radiation treatment effects to patients.
• Assess social determinants of health by completing biopsychosocial assessments.
• Provide patients and families with emotional and resource support.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on the impact of illness or injury.
• Promote health and reduce health inequities by advocating for, educating, and empowering patients and families.
Required Qualifications:
• Diploma or associate degree in nursing.
• BLS from AHA.
• 2+ years post MSW experience in Emergency Department, Medical Social Work, Case Management, Brief Treatment, Oncology, Cancer Support.

• Experience in radiation oncology nursing.

• Attending Multidisciplinary Rounds.
• Addressing Advanced Care Planning Needs.
• Providing Support around.
Certifications:
• BLS from AHA.
• MSW.
• Mass LCSW.
