Job Requirements / Description
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Med Surg Float Pool
**Job Specialty:** Resource Team
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 1 year recent Med Surg experience in a large hospital
**License:** Active RN license from a compact state is required
**Certifications:** BLS - must be American Heart Association certified
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Willingness to float within the Med Surg Cluster and between campuses
**Job Description:**
- Perform head-to-toe assessments and administer medications by various routes
- Formulate and document care plans
- Provide wound, line, and drain care
- Utilize equipment such as Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vitals machines
- Rotate between day and night shifts with every other weekend and holiday on the schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Float to all Med Surg units on three campuses as needed
- Med Surg specialty units include oncology, general med-surg, trauma med-surg, cardiac, neuro, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4-5 from 7 AM to 11 PM and 1:5-6 from 11 PM to 7 AM
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
- Orientation includes one full shift on various Med Surg units and a few hours of team expectations and campus tours during the first week of hire
